HI WHAT’S UP!

My name is Stephen but you can call me Steph.

I LOVE to eat good food. Instead of eating out, I cook the food myself and I want to share my food adventures with y’all.

About Me

I’m the person behind this website — cooking, writing, testing recipes, and occasionally burning things so you don’t have to.

I live in Montreal, Canada, and most of my life revolves around two things: food and the internet. When I’m not cooking or experimenting with recipes, there’s a good chance I’m “brainrotting” online, scrolling through food videos, random cooking techniques, and whatever weird corner of the internet I’ve discovered that day.

Outside of the kitchen, I help run my family’s small business portfolio. That includes a nail salon, a restaurant, and several rental properties. Managing those businesses has taught me a lot about discipline, problem-solving, and how important good food is for bringing people together.

Also, one important thing you should know about me: hockey is basically my religion. If you live in Canada, you understand.

Why This Website Exists

This website started from a simple idea: we waste way too much food.

Every year, an insane amount of perfectly good food gets thrown away. Most of the time it’s not because the ingredients are bad — it’s because we don’t know what to do with what’s left in the fridge.

Some of the best meals I’ve ever eaten didn’t come from carefully planned recipes. They happened by accident. A few random ingredients. Something leftover. Cooking something in a slightly different way.

What I’ve learned is that great food often comes from technique and creativity, not expensive ingredients.

This site is about making the most out of what you already have, cooking smarter, and realizing that amazing meals don’t need to be complicated.

My Food Philosophy

I cook the way most normal people actually eat.

Most of the time, I cook on a budget. Simple ingredients. Affordable meals. Things you can make on a random Tuesday night.

But sometimes food is also about celebration. Cooking for friends. Family dinners. Special occasions where you want to go a little overboard.

So my cooking style is a mix of both worlds:

Because food should be accessible, but it should also be fun.

My Story

I grew up in a family of six with three sisters in a middle-class household. My parents were immigrants chasing the classic Canadian dream — working hard and building a better life for the family.

Growing up, I didn’t have a huge social circle, so I spent a lot of time figuring things out on my own. That independence shaped how I approach a lot of things in life, including cooking.

One thing I was lucky about, though, was food.

My mom cooked incredible meals for us growing up. A lot of the recipes you’ll see on this website are inspired by dishes she made when I was a kid. Those meals became the foundation for how I understand flavor and comfort food.

As I got older, the internet became my second cooking school. I learned techniques, recipes, and inspiration from countless videos, blogs, and chefs online.

Another huge influence came from my time studying abroad in Korea. Living there completely changed the way I thought about food — from flavors and ingredients to how meals bring people together.

That experience added a whole new layer of inspiration to how I cook today.

What You’ll Find On This Website

This site is a mix of recipes, experiments, and whatever cooking idea I’m obsessed with that week.

Here’s what you can expect:

Simple, well-tested recipes
Every recipe is something I’ve personally cooked multiple times. No overly complicated instructions or ingredients you need to hunt down across five different stores.

New recipes every week
I’m committed to consistently adding new recipes and ideas to the site.

A balance between tasty and healthy
Food should taste amazing, but it should also make you feel good.

Stories from my life
Some posts will include random, funny, or slightly embarrassing stories about things that happened in my life.

Cooking techniques and tips
Beyond recipes, I’ll also share things I’ve learned about cooking, improving in the kitchen, and even building food content online.

The Goal

At the end of the day, my goal is simple:

Help you cook better food, waste less, and maybe laugh at some of my dumb kitchen mistakes along the way.

If you leave this site with a new recipe, a new cooking trick, or just an idea for what to make with the random stuff in your fridge, then it’s doing its job.
